Borough Council Meeting Minutes

January 4, 1999

Meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. The following were in attendance: David L. Hindman, William Thompson, Linda Abrams, Raymond Brown, Dan Dunham, Phyllis Sturdevant, Joe Keeney and Mike McGroarty.

OUTSIDE BUSINESS:

Burn ban was discussed; ban has been extended another 30 days.

Mike McGroarty asked to have water and sewer turned off at old Ivan Hugo Feed Mill.

All Council members appointed need to run for election at the end of this year.

OTHER: A resolution was read to appoint Joe Keeney to replace Mike Cuomo on the New Albany Borough Council. Bill Thompson made a motion to pass the resolution, Ray Brown seconded the motion, vote was unanimous. Dan Dunham swore Joe Keeney in as new Council Person at 8:30 PM

MINUTES:

Minutes from December 7th were read. Bill Thompson made a motion to accept, Phyllis Sturdevant 2nd motion, minutes were approved.

TREASURER'S REPORT:

Treasurer's Report was read, Phyllis Sturdevant made a motion to accept, Ray Brown seconded the motion, report accepted.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Highway: The roads were cindered on January 3rd, good job. Cinders have not been moved from old Lumber Mill.

Sewer: No sludge removed last month. We have credit at McGuires. Alden Turner of Wyalusing will check to see about sewer blower.

Water: Pump was run for 44 1/2 hours from December 17 to 19th.
December 17th tank empty had to run water from well. Leak at Simons water shutoff. Leak in creek, when weather is warmer, will try to fix this leak.

SWIP test - nothing from Ron Russell yet. When well was on chlorinator was also on. Package for well should be here next meeting.
