Borough Council Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM. The following were in attendance: Phyllis Sturdevant, Dan Dunham, Dave Hindman, Bill Thompson, Linda Abrams, Joseph Keeney, Josh McGroarty and Elaine Shirk.

OUTSIDE BUSINESS:

There have been complaints about David Shores dog running loose, getting in trash and messing in neighbor's lawns. Also, complaints about dog at Zavitsky house barking all times of day and night. A letter will be written to each resident.

Vida Williams asked about regulations regarding building a fence around her yard.

MINUTES:

Minutes from February 1, Meeting were read an approved by a motion by Bill Thompson, second by Linda Abrams.

TREASURER'S REPORT:

Treasurer's Report was read and approved by a motion from Bill Thompson and seconded by Linda Abrams.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Highway: Stop sign at corner of Hubler and speed limit sign by Dave Hindman's House are still down. Joe Keeney said he will fix. Most of the problems with drainage on Lawrence Street have been solved. Josh stated he thinks the open ditch there needs to have work. Joe & Josh discussed possibilities.

Rotary Village Corp. wants to hire North Tier Solid Waste to clean the streets and split the cost with the Borough. Bill Thompson made a motion to do this, Linda Abrams seconded the motion, motion carried.

Park: Received $50.00 for Masters for May 22nd. Joe Keeney and Mert would like the whole Park on July 17th for their wedding and would like our Borough Mayor to perform the ceremony. Reverend Troup and Vida Williams have been working on a concert by the Jacob Brothers for August 7th in the evening.

Sewer: Grinder pump down. Needs to be sent out to be fixed. Blower pump is down and needs to be fixed.

Water: Dave received a call about 10 days previous from someone on the upper end of Fawcett street. They had very low water pressure and the water was dirty. The strainer at the chlorinator building was clogged.

Dave received the bid proposal from Stiffler for drilling a test well at site #1. Bill Thompson made a motion to advertise for bids for the drilling of the test well, Josh McGroarty seconded the motion, vote was unanimous.

Linda Abrams reported that the water at the school has been tasteing like chlorine.

Dave Hindman stated that John Hanzok is our backup water person so Dave is going to continue letting the reports, from Seewald, go to John and he will see that the bills get to us.
