Meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM. The following were in attendance: Dave Hindman, Phyllis Sturdevant, Linda Abrams, Bill Thompson, Joe Keeney, Dan Dunham, Ed Webster, Jr., Rodney Lamphere, Vida Williams and Elaine Shirk.
OUTSIDE BUSINESS:
Ginny Hugo had no taxes to turn in for August.
Vida gave Dave an article that was in the paper about grant money available for recreation and parks.
MINUTES:
Minutes from the August 2nd meeting were read an approved by a motion made by Bill Thompson and seconded by Linda Abrams.
TREASURER'S REPORT:
Treasurer's Report was read and approved by a motion from Phyllis Sturdevant, seconded by Bill Thompson.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Highway: Josh not at the meeting.
Discussion regarding Lawrence Street, and Pelton Hill, both very bad. Also the storm drain by bank is plugged. Dave will get with Kyle Bird about getting work done.
Vida Williams stated that she thought the Crosswalks should be repainted since school is in session. Dave has access to a line striper; Vida will speak with Gene Hiduk. White paint is to be purchased.
Park: Linda turned $185.00 in to secretary for reunions in August. At the meeting turned in another $30.00 for Bacorn Reunion.
Rodney Lamphere stated that he thought the Borough should post signs at the Park with regard to the kids building ramps and jumping them with their bicycles. Kids are also lying under the ramps.Rodney has also made ashtrays and hung them in each pavilion.
RVC is getting ready for Fall Festival.
Sewer: Flow meter is back on line and working good.
Motor is back; it is at Matt McGroartys.
Dave will speak with Mountain Lake Electric about the grinder pump.
Water: Supply adequate.
Rodney Lamphere cut his meter wire with weed eater, needs to be fixed.
Dave stated even though New Albany Borough has adequate water the burn ban is still in effect.
Dave stated that a new SWIP plan has been sent to DEP.
Should start drilling at #2 site today (September 7) but delayed due to rain.
Old Business:
· September 15, a tabletop will be held with Emergency Management with regard to December 31, 1999. The meeting will be at the Social Hall at 7:00 PM with representatives of Borough, Township, Fire Department and other interested persons.
· Dave still working on a generator for the Sewer plant
· Dave still working on the question about the Fire contract.
· Bill Thompson and Dave Hindman going to the seminar on line detection.
New Business:· Mike McGroarty wants to subdivide his property. Cant see any problems with this.
· Secretary will advertise for bids for plowing and Cindering.
· In preparation for the budget for Year 2000, Dave would like to hold a meeting on September 21st to discuss what we want to accomplish next year.
· It is time to file for Community Block Grant. Dave will talk to Phil Swank regarding Pelton Hill and Lawrence Street.
· Computers: Dan Dunham suggested that the Borough buy their computer from Cybermax out of New Jersey. Dave spoke with the Company and the cost would be approximately $1374.00 for what we need. Dave also had material on Gateway computers. It would cost approximately $1537 for what we need. Dave made a motion to purchase a Gateway Computer as they better known. Bill Thompson seconded the motion, vote was unanimous.
