The Baptist Church was built in 1883, the parsonage was constructed in 1910, and the church was remodeled in 1921.
Under Rev. William Schlessman the Baptist Men's Club was formed on Oct. 24, 1927 for the purpose of furthering the best interest of the church and the community. During a meeting on Nov. 17, 1952, the members changed the name of the group to New Albany United Men's Club. After this, men from other denominations were welcomed.
The Baptist Church and the Methodist Church combined to become the New Albany Cooperative Parish in June of 1970. The first sermon was on July 5 by Rev. John J. Plant. The current pastor is Rev. Ronald Troup.
